| Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has extended their "Special Open Enrollment" for Employer Sponsored Coverage until December 31, 2007 for Massachusetts small groups (1-50 eligibles) only, with the latest effective date for enrollment being December 1, 2007. This extended open enrollment period enables small groups' non-participating employees to enroll in their group sponsored health plan. |
| Note that extending an open enrollment period to employees who were eligible for coverage during employer's annual open enrollment, but voluntarily waived coverage, may impact the employer's Section 125 Plan. It is reccomended that brokers advise employers to consult with legal counsel regarding any implications to each employer's Section 125 Plan associated with offering this "Special Open Enrollment" for employees. |
